Bat Control

Habitat
Bats tend to inhabit structures that have significant exposure to sunlight, are large, and within 1/2 mile of fresh water.

Food Source
Bats in North America are insectivorous, feeding on a variety of flying insects.

Disease
Bat guano (droppings) may provide a growth medium for Histoplasmosis (a lung infection).

Property Damage
Bat droppings can produce unpleasant odors in attics and wall spaces. Smell can be described as pungent and musty.

Mating Season
Generally bats mate in fall and winter. Maternity season is May 1 through August 1. Bat control is permitted before and after maternity with the exception of bats living within a home.
